Progress towards integrated, robust and reliable Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) will accelerate the market trend towards highly automated vehicles. This leads to the proliferation of different sensors with high performance and affordable cost -such as radar, lidar, cameras and ultrasounds-, which are already being embedded on vehicles. The high amount of information produced by these sensors, plus the heterogeneous data received through communications V2X (vehicle-vehicle and vehicle-infrastructure), hinders the implementation of traditional process technologies (CPU). Therefore, the takeoff of autonomous driving systems apparently depends on both hardware and software technological improvements.TCAP-Auto aims to develop a set of tools for implementing, combining, integrating and validating different functionalities for the implementation of ADAS on embedded systems with multicore technology, or MPSoC (Multi-Processor System on Chip).
